Salt Tonic for Goldfish
Have you recently medicated your goldfish tank?

Salt Tonic for Goldfish

Do not use salt on bloated fish; fish with raised scales; fish that have recently been salted or medicated. Stagger use of salt remedies and treatments.

Treat goldfish tank 3 to 4 times per year as a tonic for exuberant health and preventative measures; discourages harmful bacteria, increases slime coat; restores vitality insuring good health.

Combine salts into 1/4 cup warm water to dissolve; mix thoroughly and premix in fresh water tub before adding to goldfish tank.

Salt: use aquarium salt or sea salt
1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) per 10 gallons (37.9 ltrs) of tank size
Epsom salts: 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) per 10 gallons (37.9 ltrs) of tank size
Baking soda: 1/8 teaspoon (1.3 mL) per 10 gallons (37.9 ltrs) of tank size (use only if pH and KH levels are in the comfort zone; 7 to 8)
MelaFix: (aquarium strength)1/2 teaspoon per 10 gallons (37.9 ltrs)

Dissolving Salt

The salts will be removed gradually as regular partial water changes are performed; allow tank temperatures to remain normal.
