Welcome, brewerj. Smile

Gave me an idea. I've just cleaned a couple of big rocks, and placed em in the freezer to place in the tank. I'll alternate. This will keep things a little cooler.

definitely running over freezer bricks cooled it right quick ! Humidity is minimal when its that hot and only damp cloths sheets towels- what have u..

27-06-2015 22:14
BUT, now the sushi is gone. Hmmmn. Maybe I'll just go back to the store and get more. It's the perfect way too hot summer evening meal. Nom nom nom with no cooking. Smile

27-06-2015 22:13
it's getting harder and harder to wait the 2 hours for my water to chill in the freezer. Ah well, this too shall pass.

27-06-2015 22:10
My husband is an anti humidity crusader (being very polite here), otherwise I'd jump on the damp rag idea. Smile

27-06-2015 22:06
Oh, wow. That was an ordeal! Did running it over ice bags chill it very quickly. Sounds grueling, but so are water changes. LOL

27-06-2015 22:04
I had a 3 day power outage and had to keep tumbling tank water to oxygenate it and run it over ice bags to chill it. Fish survived but I got a spike in the levels . Angry

27-06-2015 22:02
when I say in the sink I mean my bucket in the sink...

27-06-2015 22:02
I also took tank water and poured it over those chiller bricks in the sink then put the chilled water in the tank.

Garlic Remedy

Garlic Remedy

Benefits Purifies blood; detoxifies; lowers cholesterol levels; lowers blood pressure; blood thinner; prevents blood clots; boost immune system; prevents heart disease and strokes; destroys cancer cells; muscle relaxant; antibiotic; antifungal; destroys parasites and bad bacteria; suppresses growth of tumours Internal Parasites in Goldfish

Warning: Follow directions closely. Garlic is medicinal, but also has food value, and may degrade and deteriorate over a short period of time, contributing to the bio load. Use in heavily oxygenated water.

Garlic is also an aesthetic; overuse can make fish become lethargic and or cause them to tilt. If this happens, perform water changes to remove until the fish becomes responsive.

Roughly chop two large or three medium sized garlic cloves; place in one cup of hot, treated tap water; sit on counter until room temperature. Cover and keep refrigerated.

Good for five days.

The longer the cloves soak, the stronger the solution. If you need garlic asap, the bulbs can be pulverized in a blender with water, and strained; double the amount of water and use only 1/4 of what remedy calls for.

Garlic Tonic Use to enhance overall health
Premix 1 tablespoon of (24 hour) garlic water per 10 gallons of main tank size; premix in fresh water before adding to tank or pond. If garlic water is aged: premix 1 teaspoon of garlic water per 10 gallons of tank or pond water.

Perform 20% fresh water change; premix garlic in fresh water before gradually adding to tank or pond.

For added benefit, treatment can be combined with  Salt Tonic
